Life Legacy
Archie Malone Frost, age 94, Sergeant Major (retired) went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 7, 2012. He was born on April 16, 1918 to Samuel and Lena Frost in Catoosa, OK.
Archie graduated from Catoosa High School in 1936. He joined the Army along with two of his brothers. Assignments in Wyoming, Missouri, Louisiana and Burma followed.
After WWII he met and married a vivacious young First Lieutenant from western Oklahoma, Monta Will Gallaway. There began a 60 year love story that continues to inspire friends and family today. Three lively sons were added to the family, as the young Frosts were sent from Formosa to Germany to San Antonio with stateside stops in between.
Archie Frost was a member of Castle Hills First Baptist Church for 50 years, serving his Lord in tasks large and small. He lived a simple life of thriftiness, humility and gentle kindness. He always preferred to shine the spotlight on his dear Monta rather than himself. While she thrived in teaching and leadership roles, he preferred to quietly serve and engage people one on one. His wise stewardship of finances led to being asked to serve as President of the National Association of Investment Corporation in 1991. The Lord allowed them after retirement to share both their knowledge and resources with students furthering their education and in supporting evangelistic efforts around the world.
Archie was predeceased by 5 sisters and 2 brothers and his beloved wife Monta.
He is survived by three sons Garlon (Alla), Monta (Donna), and Richard (Jill). Grandchildren include Gene, Greg (Karen), Kevin, Amy, Masha, Todd (Brandy), Jonathan (Kersten), Kristina (David), and Katherine Frost. Great-grandchildren are Malachi Franco and Quentin Frost.
