Life Legacy
On Thursday, April 5th, 2012, at the young age of 34 our precious son Robert Eugene Martin was called by His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to live again by His side in Paradise.
Born October 14, 1977 Robert was preceded in death by his loving maternal grandparents Luis and Mary Aguilar and paternal grandparents Doris and Chris Polykalas and Eugene Thomas Martin. He is survived by his mother Yolanda Steinke and step-father Paul Steinke. As well as his father and step-mother Robert and Linda Martin, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
After sustaining injuries in an automobile accident in 1996, Robert lived a courageous life overcoming valiantly many seemingly insurmountable health issues.
Robert graduated from Thomas Clark High School in San Antonio, TX as a member of the National Honor Society in 1996, and played football for the varsity team. He was awarded academic scholarships from Baylor and SMU; however was unable to accept either due to the timing of the accident.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Robert’s kind and loving caregivers, his loving Uncle Robert Aguilar, Sylvia Del Toro, Luis Del Rosario, Armin Romero and his cousin Steven Pinckard. They were always by his side and tending to his every need more as a son or brother than a patient.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 9, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
