Life Legacy


Boyette A. Hasty, Jr., age 83, died March 27, 2012 in San Antonio, TX following a courageous five-year battle with cancer. He was born February 13, 1929 in Atlanta, GA.

He graduated from Boys High School in 1947 and the University of Georgia in 1951 with a degree in business administration. Following graduation, he went into the insurance business, working with the Fireman’s Fund Group in Georgia and Texas, the Richard Wray Agency, Pacific Indemnity, and finally Chubb & Son, where he was a branch manager covering all of South Texas. He retired from Chubb in 1985 as a vice president. He was a member and elder of the Stone Oak Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Boyette is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane; his son Steve and wife Mary; his daughter, Gail Collett; his daughter Wendy and husband Rod Lewis; his son, Chris; and his grandson, Clay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Boyett and Julia Hasty; sister Martha and husband Ray Thurmond.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2012, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
