Mildred India Halat, age 87, passed away November 28, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born February 25, 1924, in Mobjack, Virginia to John and Harriet Minor Colvin. She married John Halat while he was in the service and they were married for 66 years prior to his death. Mildred enjoyed being a homemaker to her two children. A true Southern lady, she was always “done-up” and prepared. Her daughter moved her to San Antonio from Virginia due to her declining health.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Gilbert and husband Lenn; son, Ron Halat; grandson, Ron Bowers and wife Patricia; great-grandchildren, Alexa Bowers and Marisa Bowers.
A private service will be held in Maryland at a later date.
