Life Legacy
BACKLUND
Fred A. Backlund went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2001 at the age of 83. He was a devoted husband, father and friend; a gifted musician, artist and poet, as well as an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. Born in Fargo, North Dakota, he was active in Church music his entire life as a soloist, director and composer. He was known and loved for his sense of humor, spontaneity and affable nature and was passionate about his family and his music. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry and survived by his wife of 58 years, Evy; son Michael; and daughter-in-law Debbie, son, Tim and daughter-in-law Diana; daughter, DeAnn Fisher and son-in-law, Bill; and daughter-in-law Vicki; grandchildren, Kim, Kari, Kelly, David, Laura, Austin, Kyle, Cory and Connor; three great grandchildren; and numerous friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
