Life Legacy
Mary D. Zurlo, age 85, passed away May 6, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born March 20, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York to Prospero and Assunta Napoli. She met the love of her life, Harold "Blackie" Zurlo and they were married when he returned from World War II. Their union lasted 61 glorious years before Harold's death in 2009.
A caring wife, mother, grandmother, family always came first to Mary. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and all types of needle work along with being an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blackie; her parents, and her brother, Alfred Napoli.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Susan Zurlo-Loveland and husband Daniel, and Pamela Marie Salinas and husband Rigoberto; grandchildren, Jonathan Anthony and Brianna Marie; cousins, Louise Bova and husband Tony, Nettie Grella; nephews, Eugene and wife Charolette, John and wife Mary, Eugene Zurlo and Robert Zurlo and her beloved pets; Meaghan Rose and Pandora.
Many thanks go to all the staff with Vitas Hospice and Alamo Hospice for all the care they gave Mary.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
