Wynonah Lacy Fowler Zimmermann died on May 8, 2011, Mother’s Day and her 101st birthday. Born in Winters, TX on May 8, 1910, our beloved Wynonah was a devoted mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, aunt and wonderful friend. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Claude Fowler and Edgar Zimmermann, daughter Sheila Fowler Hall, granddaughter M'Lis Watkins Brewer, and great-grandson Jackson Brewer. She also outlived 5 younger brothers, Jack Lacy, Monta Lacey, Charlie Lacy, Bill Holliday and Jimmy Holiday. She is survived by her sister Vaughni Peacock and her husband, Doug of Odessa TX, her son-in-law Sean Brewer, his wife Monti, great-grandsons Raleigh, Ross, Roland, his wife Jennifer and daughters Madison and Morgan, and numerous nieces and nephews and a few friends. Wynonah, a 6th generation Texan, was very proud of her heritage. She moved to San Antonio after graduating from high school and secretarial school in San Angelo. She owned her own day-care for many years before retiring. Wynonah was a long-time member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. She continued to live at home until her death. Wynonah enjoyed traveling, reading, family gatherings and especially spending time with her two great-grandsons, Raleigh & Ross, of whom she was so proud.
