To the Deegan Family, We are thinking of you all during this very difficult time. I am thankful I had the priviledge of meeting Mr. Deegan. His warmth and good humor left a lasting impression. I distinctly remember observing he and Cheryl together at Alex's wedding. I thought to myself, I hope to some day feel love with a spouse like they showed to each other and after so many years together. I also enjoyed seeing his banter with Alex on Facebook, in particular about our fellow Tar Heels. Mr. Deegan will live on in his two amazing children and grandchildren. I was blessed to have met Bill (Colonel) Deegan when we were working as contractors at Lackland. I was also privileged enough to have played a few rounds of golf with him as well as seeing/visiting he & Cheryl at Spurs' games. He indeed was a kind, thoughtful person, a gentleman and someone who enjoyed life and living. I was sorry to hear of his passing and know that while it is our earthly loss it is Heaven's gain.
